New Brake Pads Won T Fit Over Rotor. Even with only the piston side brake pad in place, it still doesn't fit. However when i put them back together i can’t fit the brake rotor.

Be careful not to crimp the brake line. Then i took a belt sander to the corners of the new parking brake shoes. So, i am building a 77 d 60 out of a k30.

Even With An Extra 1.5Mm You Should Be Able To Easily Slide The Caliper Over The Pads And Rotor.


Position the clamp through c shaped opening on the front and the top of the clamp on the back side of the caliper. I removed the rotor and triple checked 'how the shoe fits'. Compressed the caliper in as much as possible.

I Took The Other Pair Which I Haven't Installed Yet And Put Them On The Bench To Compare With My Originals.


The brake pad ends up with this awkward angle on the rotor. The new parking brake shoes were adjusted to loosened position as far as possible. When the piston is fully compressed into the caliper the backing plate of the new pad will be nearly flush with the caliper.

It Was Better After That But Still Dragging Some.


2000 crown vic p71 so i replaced my very (completely) worn out parking brake pads. I compressed the piston on the new calipers but still. Looking down at the pads it seems that possibly the heel end, or the rear end of the inboard pad is dragging.

So, I Am Building A 77 D 60 Out Of A K30.
